Welcome to the Cathlamet, Washington Horizons Community Blog

Cathlamet: a flavorful heritage of Finnish, Indian & Norwegian. Our Indian Heritage is reflected in the community & the county was named for Chief Wahkiakum. Cathlamet, very rural & quiet, has many areas for fishing & hunting, very fertile farm land growing a variety of produce, & a long farming history. Cathlamet, 25 mi west of Longview WA & built in the 1880s - sits along the Columbia River bordering the Oregon Coast & is an historical site on the hwy to beautiful Lower Columbia Basin.
